The Msamaria Center for Street Children is Tanzanian registered NGO providing support and care to street children, orphans, families and communities.
Msamaria is located in Northern Tanzania in a city called Moshi which lies at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The center houses children ranging in ages from 5 to 17 years. The majority of the children were recruited from the streets where they lived due to various difficult situations.
Under the guidance of Mr. Folkward Mapunda, his staff and volunteers, the children are now living a better life and beginning to realize their full potential. Click here to visit their website .

One of our Kilimanjaro guides, Dennis Kanuti is a volunteer at Msamaria and has helped us coordinate efforts to become a donor of the center.
In addition to climbing Kilimanjaro. adventX aims to assist the program directors – both financially and by volunteering at the center in September – to achieve several objectives:
- Building a chicken breeding facility (300 chickens for eggs)
- Building a dairy facility (3 cows for milk)
- Building a new kitchen
- Growing crops (maize and beans)
- Creating T-Shirts to sell to tourists
- Making craft items; carvings and beads etc to sell to tourists
- Building new dormitory
- New mattresses and bedclothes
- New office
- Basketball court
- Recreation room
Some of the climbing party will travel early to Moshi to work at the center. If you would like to help, as a climber, to visit as a non-climber, or with a financial contribution. Please contact adventX Principal John Colver – john@adventx or Msamaria Director - Folkward Mapunda – info@msamariakids.org
